It is an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California in late 1982 and has sold 14 million albums in the United States. He was also the lead singer during the 1990’s for the band Bar 7, a hard rock/blues band that he formed along with Tommy Skeoch of Tesla.

Before joining Tesla, JK started singing for the band Troubleshooter, along with his brother BK when he was 24 years old. He then joined the band City Kidd which was later known as Tesla in 1983.
