Natalie Suleman was born in Fullerton, California and was the only child of Iraq war army veteran and restaurant owner Doud Suleman and schoolteacher Angela Victoria Suleman. She was educated in Nogales High School in La Puente, California and Fullerton’s California State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. She was able to work in a state mental hospital for three years.

In 1997, when she was only 21 years old, Suleman started having IVF treatments under the supervision of Dr. Michael Kamrava who eventually got expelled from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

She gave birth to her first child, a son, in 2001. A year later, she gave birth to her first daughter. Suleman continued having IVF treatments that resulted in three more pregnancies that include a set of fraternal twins.
