George Breedlove is the ex-husband of Jeanette Lee (born Lee Jin-Hee, Hangul on July 9, 1971, in Brooklyn, New York). She is an American professional billiard player. Her friends nicknamed her the Black Widow because she, despite her sweet demeanor, “ate people alive” when she came to a pool table. Jeanette is an American of Korean descent.

Jeanette Lee’s Cancer Diagnosis

Billiard legend Jeanette Lee has been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, according to the American Poolplayers Association. Known as “The Black Widow,” the 49-year-old mother of three is revered as one of the greatest billiard players of all time.

“I intend to bring the same resolve that I brought to the pool table in this fight,” Lee said in a statement released Wednesday. “Jim Valvano told us so eloquently, ‘Never give up.’ I owe it to my three young daughters to do exactly that,” she added, probably referring to the late college basketball coach who also had cancer and died in 1993.

“I always loved children and I still love them. I wanted a future to help nurture their minds and hopefully always make a difference in a positive way.”

Lee began playing pool in 1989. She went on to rank as the number one pool player in the world during the 1990s and received the Women’s Billiard Professional Association (WPBA) Sportswoman of the Year award in 1998.

She was a three-time runner-up at the Nine Ball World Championship (women), from 1993 to 1996. In addition to many of the best results on the WPBA Tour, she won the gold medal for the United States at the 2001 World Games in Akita, Japan, and won the women’s $ 25,000 winning Tournament of Champions twice, in 1999 and 2003. Lee also wrote The Black Widow’s Guide to Killer Pool.

In 2001, Lee challenged Efren Reyes to a career 13-on-nine exhibition match in Manila, Philippines, but lost 4-13. In 2007, she was ranked # 4 in Pool & Billiard Magazine’s Top 20 Fan Favorite Player Poll. In 2013, Lee was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Billiard Congress of America.
