Born in Huntsville, Jason and his family moved to Conroe soon and then finally settled in Virginia where he spent his childhood. He was raised alongside his two brothers, John Townsend and Andrew Knauf, both of who now are also successful in life. His brother, John worked as the owner of a construction company named Townsend Construction and Andrew as the Houston fire captain.
